My Story
Consultant Stroke Physician | FRCP
Dr Usman Ghani is the Clinical Service Lead for Stroke Medicine at University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Trust, where he leads stroke services across Warwickshire as part of the county’s centralised stroke care model.
He graduated from Dow Medical College, Pakistan, in 2002, and began his NHS career in 2005. Dr Ghani holds triple accreditation in Stroke Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, and General Internal Medicine, achieving CCT in all three specialties in 2014. He was appointed Consultant Stroke Physician in 2015 and joined University Hospital Coventry in 2016. He was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) in 2018.
Dr Ghani has a strong interest in clinical governance, service leadership, and medical education. He teaches Warwick Medical School students and is a PACES examiner for the Royal College of Physicians, London.
